Another effect of free radicals is lipid peroxidation, mainly present as oxidative destruction of the polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of cell membranes. It is an uncontrolled process of autooxidation that culminates with the formation of lipid hydroperoxides and aldehydes.21

The fight against skin aging can be considered from two points of view; first of all with a preventive character nulante, delaying the manifestations of aging of the skin, and on the other hand with a reparative character, improving the condition of aged skin.
